Suggestions on boat speed etc. when recording data
My Helix 10 is on order. Can anyone suggest the best boat speed and distance between travel lines when recording data. TX

Under 20mph is good. Under 10mph is better. Under 5mph is best.
50 feet apart is good. 25 feet apart is better. 10 feet apart is best.
Get the idea?
It depends how much detail you want from an area. Obviously, the slower you go, the more data points that will be collected closer together, which creates a more detailed map. Obviously, the closer your boat tracks are together, the more data points that will be collected closer together, which creates a more detailed map.
Large open expanses of lake, that are unimportant for fishing, can be mapped at higher speeds and tracks further apart. Steep drop-offs and structure that you're wanting a detailed map to fish from, you'll want a more detailed approach for mapping them. Good luck!
